Splitting Mushrooms

How do you get your mushrooms to split?

I have a few very large mushrooms which I got from the LFS and was wondering how often the split and what can I do to help them. I have a 20 tall and I'm running a 65w PC for lighting. Things look real good, but what esle an I do?

Either just be patient or get out the razor blades.

If you cut the mushroom off just below the head, you can either put it in a cup with some rubble and wait, or us a wide rubberband to loosely attach it to a rock. You (if water is in good condition) should grow a new head from the stem that you left which leaves you with 2 shrooms instead of one. it's a little quicker than waiting for them to split

Slice it through the center with the blade if it is not attached to a rock, otherwise the cut off the rock solution works well.

None! I have heard you can put them in a blender and pour it back in your tank and they will grow.

That's good... I swear they have grown more in just the past week since I have brought them home. many people talk about being over run by shrooms, other than a few other SPS would have my tank full. Of course my pairing clowns and my 6 inch BTA.
