Something is hollowing out our mushroom rock!! help??

hey there

we have just set up our salt water tank and only have afex things in our tank at the moment..but the most recent addition is our mushroom rock...im not too sure what type of rock it is but it looks like some thing is hollowing it out!! we had a mantis shrimp in it which we managed to catch and we initially though the hollowing came from him but the debri mounds have gotten bigger since. the only other creature that i can see in the rock looks like a spaghetti worm...??

any ideas what it could be?? coz we really dont want to lose our rock!! oh and there are also what look like spider webs in random crevises in the rock that can be seen when the mushrooms move around...i dunno if that helps?

The rock is very soft and already contains many holes, are you sure it is not sand rather than debris from the rock being tunneled?

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

well im quite new at this so it is possible that it is sand... but either way what could cause this tunneling? is it maybe the spaghetti worms or could it be something else...?

im pretty worried coz the rock is looking pretty holey at the moment...

THe rock should be pretty holey. Reef rock is made from corals, worms, encrusting algae, etc so it is not solid like a terrestrial rock. I have never seen or heard of a rock being tunneled away to nothing.
