Do mushrooms secrete a chemical / hormone that encourages multiplying ?

Just a thought, as all my ricordea / 'shrooms have begun leaving "babies" all over the place as they relocate themselves.

Could be just the change in lighting or maturity of the (close to the same age ) individuals but it seems to be more than coincidence (IMHO).

And the Maturity of the tank will also have an effect .

Look for the "One Year Later" thread. I recently changed the pcs from Corallife 50/50 and Dual Actinic to Sunpaq 10,000k and Dual Actinic. The color is a lot better.
This incarnation of the tank (after a crash and cooking the rock for 3 months) is now 11 months old. The 'shrooms were added in December '07.
The combination of those factors is probably it but I thought it would be a good discussion (or subject for a thesis) .
