Should I Frag It?

After my AC went out for a few days my tank temp got up to 86Deg. Anyway, everything made it OK with the exception of a large devils hand which has a dead spot that has grown and is now about 1/3 of the coral. So do I leave it? frag off the dead part? Cut it into pieces? I'd like to have one big coral rather than a bunch of frags but the most important thing is that I save it.

The "dead" part is bleached and is kinda rough looking. I would not say rotting, but its starting to deteriorate a little.

I ask because mine looks like that occasionally (from what I can see in the pic) and it tends to bounce back in a while

i would watch it for a few days, if it doesn't get better i would frag it and just try to cut off the piece that id damaged. i would give it no more than a week before fragging it.

If you give it a gentle rub it and it falls about then for sure need to frag it off. I have had this happen on several occasions and usually will end up taking out the whole coral even after fragging because it happens from the inside out and can already have spread to the whole thing internally by now.

For sure cut back to the rubbery part if it falls apart when rubbing. Then hope it doesn't keep spreading.
