Plate Coral spinning a web?

I recently set up a 45 gallon diamond tank with sump and have finally gotten my first coral, a medium sized green long-tentacle plate coral. I put him in last night and today something looking like a cobweb was coming off of it. Is this something to be concerned about? What is it?

i uploaded photos, but this site won't let me put them here until I have 20 posts...so here is where the pic is:

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

is it PO'd from being moved from LFS to my tank? or something else? the hermits and snails don't seem to be messing with it...

the web did recently come off and float to the top of the tank

is there anything I should do or is it 'normal' to have this happen?

also, it's definitely white and web-like, not brown and jelly-like

nothing to worry about unless it doesn't go away once the polyp expands. that coral would be happier in the sand i think.

Horrible survivability rates for those corals in captivity, especially in a new tank.

Can you see a red or brown tube on the side of the coral by chance? It looks like it could be from a larger vermitid snail.
