I totally agree. No contest. But i also have killed every non-photosynthetic one i have ever had. These ones take zero maintenance and do well. For that reason i dont even try the non-photosynthetic ones
It can be done, but ive never went out of my way to do so, so i am better off with the easy photosynthetic ones. I like them spread out across the floor of my reef.

Well now isn't that the 64,000.00 question!
I believe that some things are not meant to be kept in the home aquarium

What do you mean?? You just have to figure out how to keep them fed.
You would know better than I. I tend to keep more sps than anything. I know you have put some effort into keeping some of the more difficult softies and lps

I actually had a very healthy chili leather for abouot a year and a half.....never did anything special for it.....but the more i got into sps and learned how to keep my systems clean...the more it withered away until it finally just died.
I probably should have tried to feed it more. LOL

i was thinking of a solution..not filter feeding but direct feeding..such as is done to humans..inject the food into the part where the coral utilizes it..that way it get all it needs & dosent mess the tank up..but ive never seen a soft corals anatomy before..& this may just be a incredibly stupid idea !! LOL..filter feeding and such has always led to an eventual death, just some later than others.

I hate to say it, but that may be because there isn't one!
As I said before...go for it!
Just make sure and document it all as you go
