Not sure if my tree is going to make it.
Got this frag 3 days ago and when I got it the thing was all closed up and limp which I expected but I am not really sure about what to look for as far as the thing recovering from the shock of transport. It has opened up a bit, nothing has turned brown or anything and nothing has fell off so I hope thats a good sign. Here is a picture of the little guy.

I find soft corals with some structure and vertical growth often look peeked for a few weeks even after bringing home. They are generally pretty hardy and pull through. I would watch and wait, just don't move it or mess with it too much unless it is in a bad spot.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

To my suprise the thing really perked up this afternoon. We have been gone since I posted earlier and now it looks like a different piece altogether.

That will continue to happen from time to time as they grow as well. As long as it doesn't start melting away, everything should be fine with it. Eventually it will even drop off some of the branches and they will grow as well.

I also hope you skip the melting part, as it is no fun whatsoever.

It opened up even more today so I am feeling pretty good about it. I had to move it down a bit cause for some reason the condy does not like anything close to it. Every time I add something to the tank I swear that thing goes and investigates what it is. If it starts to be a problem it will have to go but it always ends up where it started.
I feed him a little piece of shrimp about every other week or so, so I am thinking it is comfortable in its spot so it does its rounds. I think it is getting ready to split as well cause is looks like it is forming another opening and it has some new tentacles popping out as well. If it moves to the front of the tank again I will try to snag a picture.

Glad to hear things are going well with it, even with the wandering condy.

Thanks, today it looks even better. Every day it seems to get a bit taller and opens up a bit more. All the "arms" on it are looking good.
