Ok .... so i have had my tank running for about 5 months and everything is doing good...just recently switched from a 10g to a 35 g hex...while changing the tanks over i had to turn the lights off and move some rocks around well i noticed that thre was a red coral with translucent tentacles / fingers coming out and white balls on the end of the fingers...idk what kind of coral it is but when i put light to it ist clses it has a mouth in the cneter of the body and i cant seem to get a good pic of it my digital camera wonk focus that close to get a good shot ... but it will only come out at night or when the lights are off...i would like to kno what it is if anyone has any ideas i have never really heard of many mushrooms being nocturnal and thats what it looks like is a red shroom with a translucent top to it but idk...if i can get a goo dpic then i will but for now im hopin one of you can figure or help me out with it...

Might be a nocturnal pest anemone of some sort. Any chance you can get a better picture?

These were refereed to me as Hidden Cup Coral .
They are non Photo Coral so lighting Is not needed in fact it is harmfull to them as they love dark and low to Moderit flow .
they are felter feeders .
You know that the 15k blub is gona be blue right ?
Other than that would you mind posting your tank specs like Hight and all that ?

no i didnt know that the light would be blue...will that cause any problems keeping corals everyone else i have talked to has said that 15000K will be more the sufficient for my tank ... the specs are whatever a 35 gal hex is ... LOL im not at home to measure or i would but yes i have about 15 LBS LS and about 30LBS LR in the tank ... i have a maximas clam some mushrooms some buton polyps some xenia some of the hidden cup's an anemone millipora a clown fish a blue tang and a banggai Cardinal .. a couple emerald crabs a skunk shrimp a couple troch snails a turbo about 12 blue leg hermits lol i mean i have a decent tank running just want more then a 96W fixture on 35 G...that cuts my WPG down to like 2.7 and if i go with the 250 W i will be back to like 7.1 WPG and when i had the 96W on my 10 G ( which i switchd over to the 35G about 2 weeks ago ) everything was loving the 10 G and everything is still doing verry well in my 35 even the clam which i had my doubts about ... im running a 2x 96W dual 50/50 on a 35 G Hex...and everything is growing and oppening up fully i do a water change once a week of about 3 G and i just add a few drops of chemicals to the water when i change it out...i havent had any cyno or any problems since the ten G first cycled...i mean nothing ... no ick nor slime algea no pests...nothing everything is loving it ... i top off and use RO water for the changes i don dose i dont have a skimmer anymore i dont have a sump i just do water changes every 5 days or 7 days and everything is fine...i use instant ocean reefcrystals as a salt and truthfully i havent tested the water since i got the new one up and running .... i keep my temp around 79 but its summer so ive seen it jump to 84-86 on me and everything still is doing fine...my SG is right around .025-.026 Salinity at like 30-32 i think cant rememebr ... im going to have to do a test this weekend and il post...but what about the lights...i mean i wouldnt mind the blue i think it would be hot on my tank i always liked it when i seen it in stores i just wanna know if it will effect my corals at all i mean w/ the wattage it should do more good then harm...right ?

o and as for the hidden cup corals...they are in a shadow but they will not open up when the lights are on ... they started growing in my 10 G when the lighting was 9.6 W a gallon...so im sure they will survive the 2.7 i have now and the 7 im going up to they will just open at night ... im pretty much only keeping filter feeders in the tank ... im not a fan of stoneys and other hard corals xcept gargonias...and of course acropora and milli pora...but i like mushrooms and maybe a chili coral or somethign like that lol idk i am not new new to this but i dont have years experience i just watch things and if everythign is good i dont change a thing ... i just keep on doing the same things ive been doing which is mostly chemicals adn water changes...i always have questions so the more feedback the merrier for me i suppose lol
