New Xenias in the tank - Love the movement !

Did a water test and figured i needed more salt and a mag cleaner so headed down to the LFS and never thought i would be leaving with these guys.

They are about 3 - 4 inches tall and I love the movement action they add to the tank !!! Not to mention they were cheap !! These were a bit larger than the others in the frag section but for $15s I am thinking about grabing another for the other side of the tank tomorrow. although he told me they grow faily fast if fed and happy so I will just wait till i can spilt them.

They typically do one of two things...die or spead like mad.....

I only keep xenia by themselves remotly in the sand on there own rock so not to spread like crazy on neighboring rocks!
They do look cool though....just not everywhere!

They seem really fussy with flow , I keep adjusting the PH but it has taken 3 times now.

I wish I could place them on the bottom as well but with only 4 36w 16" PC lights going i need to get them high enough and it is 24" to the bottom where i would really like them

They really don't need much light and they will take over if they like your tank

They seem to like light and moderate flow!

arg ~!!!

after viewing this topic i look over at the tank and dont see it. I go over and it was more pissed off than Kfed was when Brittney handed him divorce papers !

Every little part of it was bound up like a tight little fist.

I have shut most of the flow completly off to see if it really is the flow that is bugging him. Will check back with it in about 10 to see if it is open again.

Could it just be tired from the stress of a new tank or going from fish store quality lights to mine ?

I found if you frag down to the rock it wont grow back so it controls the xenia pretty well. Just take the extra to lfs and let the credit build.
It took my xenia a couple days initially to open up. They were small too about 2 inches. Doubled with in a week and have been growing since.
I'd like to get it going in my 90 (im hey I got plenty to spread) but the ****sel bites all the tips off
Hey we got auto edit now!
