new to corals

hi im new to the forum and corals , i recently bought a coral, which i belive to be a yellow mushroom, but to me it isnt looking to well, i now has a white coating over the top of it, could anyone please tell me what the coral acctually is and if its dead?

well i would put a picture up if i knew how! can anyone help me with this to?

With a new account, you'll have to obtain 20 posts in order to share links (hyperlinked photos as well), but you can attach them to this thread. When you hit "post reply", there's an "manage attachments" button that will allow you to add a few pictures. They would surely help with any ID!
