2nd Week : day 12

Day 12 : Dendro seems to be staying closed more for the past 2 days. maybe this is part of the waste removal process. dosent seem to be dieng sorta speak. it bloomed fully last night, & i fed it agian, in the feeding container.it does not appear to like the temp getting above 78'f, my tank got up to 82 & it didnt look so good at all, got it back into the 70's & it came back out.

Since you have SPS as well in this tank how are they with the light you have (what light do you have for that matter)?

i just have one little SPS frag, im seeing if i can raise moderate-light SPS in my tank, dendro, i cant really say if its the light, waste removal, or temp that might be irritating it, it was doing perfect until my tank hit 82'f. only time will tell.

lighting : 130 watt PC

Week 3 :

Dendro aint doing so good, cyano IS growing on the stem,....out of all my corals it chose the dendro to infect....it only extends its polyps at night now....so its the light irritating it.. i cant see food being the problem..i fed it better than ive ever seen a dendro fed.

Till next Week :

Update : Lookin' good

Dendro seems to have timed its self with the lighting pattern & is only extending fully when the lights start to go off. heres a pic of it in bloom.seems to be doing good this week (scale of 1 to 10 = 8) besides the cyanno on the stem & staying in at day time

water back down to 73'f and The New Dendronpehtya (Yellow-pink) both small & large frags are looking excellent, cyanno is still on the stem of the large one. but it dont seem to be killing it, but i can tell its irritating it.

The 7 month old red dendro's are decaying away, but i still have 4 small frags left over that are 3 months old now (not a total loss) and are doing great & i see noticable growth in the one ive been posting pics of.

Next week makes 1 month ! amazing, its still doing great, contracts its polyps for a few hours after lights first come on, fully expands at night, halfway during day, seems to be feeding ALOT, i can leave it the container for over 2 hours & its still eating, & no its polyps are NOT contracted.

strange thing with the dying 7 month old RED dendro colony, it dropped off yet ANOTHER baby....HOW ?!!?!?!? its polyps never expand ! but belive it or not this makes 5 little frags from that colony, if i can get the micro on my camera to focus right on them i will get pics uploaded tonight, so far ive only been able to get pics of the oldest frag (3 months old)

Thumbs up

1 Month Tommorrow !!!!

Tommorrow makes 1 month i've had the New Yellow-Pink Colony !!\
Still doing Great & Several Updates to give !

1 : First off, if you look back on the pics i took of it when i first got it, it HAS indeed changed color, odd has anyone else recorded this happening in the home aquaria or in the ocean ?

2 : The Smallest Yellow-Pink Dendro that was attached to the large colony's rock Has Indeed Grown, heres a pic of it From last night. compare it to the early ones.

3 : cant prove significant growth of the large colony, but i do see some small polyp sprouts on the core of the coral.

4 : & as promised pics of the last remaining Frags of the now dead 7 month old Red Dendro, all are openeing & feeding well, but growth has been slow. the largest one being 3 1/2 to almost 4 months old i think.

5 : Not Feeding chroma since i ran out, just Phyto & Zoo, but polyps seem to react to Zoo & baby Brine more on some feedings rather than phyto, other times more polyp reaction with just phyto, tests were studied by just feeding a certain food to check for polyps reaction (feeding) of different foods.ill be getting some more chroma soon though.

6 : Remeber when i said it was olny extending its polyps at night.well not anymore, it stays out during the day once agian.must have been a reason, but i dont know what it was.

7 : The Cyanno that was growing on the stem of the large colony is fading away, hope it dosent regrow.

After 9 months of keeping this coral, if its still healthy i would be greatly interested in fragging this coral myself insted of natural propagation. any suggestions on HOW this should be done?, due to the dendro's anatomy is this even possible to cut an arm off & attach in using glue, rubberband *etc*?

wow nice work. Do you have a refugium on the tank? That may help with nutrient export and the cyanno...(if it comes back)
