I think they are generically called "hairy" or "fuzzy" mushrooms

The one on the left gets huge. I had one in my tank that was the size of a saucer. But they are right, I think they just go by hairy or fuzzy mushrooms. And in that pic, you cant even see how far back it goes.

Jflip is right!! The green/pink ones get huge! I got one about 6 months ago from a local club member and it was about 3 - 4 inches across. Then it developed 2 mouths and over the course of the 6 months grew and grew! On the average, when it was fully opened it was between 10 - 14 inches across. Just this past week it finally decided to split. I'm still not sure if I have 2 or 3 mushrooms now.

You can see it in the very bottom right hand corner of this picture.

Nice tank ladyreefneck...I cant believe thats a shroom...looks more like a Pizza annenome...That thing is huge. Looks like you are doing things right.

Thanks. That tank gets pretty neglected most of the time except for top-offs everyday, the skimmer emptied and cleaned once a week, the glass cleaned once a week and waterchanges about every 2 - 3 months.

Great pic. Thats about the size of the huge one I tried to picture. Theyre great, almost makes me wanna keep a softy tank.

i would love for it to split i ve never seen that with shrooms only my graps..... when my new biggg tank is running i will movem both thir any other people know about the purple pink one ??? thows are my favorite ones i have in thir !!!

yes yours can and may get that pic. i started off with one small one ( maybe 2 inche round) now i have 9 of them in two tanks and at least 6 are 7-8 inches round
