FWIW, im not kidding. I had a bloom in the first 2 weeks and in two weeks more it was GONE. Cook your rock, regardless of what substrate you use or dont use.

Reefyone, lights are 3 250w MH 14k's, and 4 48" vho's...2 of which are 10k and 2 of which are actinic. Although i have dropped the vho's altogether and am just running the MH now.

First mushrooms purchased recently, not coming out of tube. Could you offer any advice on special water conditions that I might need to have or any other advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to TRT Ragtop.
I'm not sure I follow the not coming out of the tube part. Can you post a pic?

Some mini Reds with white shading.

1 of about 4 Purple Mushroom rocks.

Newest Ric

This is actually a Green Striped Shroom (camera didn't catch colour very well)

Blue Striped

Green/Brown Tongas (they change colour depending on how much light they've had for the day)

Apple Green Ric Rock and more Purples

A couple of Reds

Lavender Hairy Shrooms (the lights just came on 30 minutes prior to this photo, so they aren't at full "Bloom" yet). This use to be 1 shroom but split into 3 about 2 weeks ago.

Sorry, double posted 1 pic and it won't let me edit/change or remove it. This was the 2nd photo of the Reds. (Excuse cloudy smudge on glass ... the toddlers have been keeping me busy and I didn't take time to pull out the vinegar and towels)

I have always liked mushrooms. They are easy to care for and have great color. The size and shapes are really cool. I have 15 types in my 125 w/110 fuge. I also have a elephant ear mushroom...this thing is over 12" in diameter.! I also keep them in my fuge along with 10 types of macro, anthelia, gorgonia, rock anemonies, brittle stars, feather star, serpent stars....heck I like my planted fuge as much as the main display! It also gives you a good place to put naughty fish!

LOL Too bad you weren't closer ... I have an 8" Goldheaded Sleeper Goby that has become a major P.I.T.A. in a very short time.

Here are my mushrooms, in a FTS. They were so huge, I loved em. My clowns loved em more.... You'd come out in the middle of the night and see them relaxing on them.
