Here are my shrooms. My tank has been up for about 7 months.

Enjoy...

Very nice, I love mushroom corals. I think they are some of the coolest corals available.

so is this thread just to post pics? Or can I ask some mushroom related questions?

Those of you that keep mushrooms...I hear they tend to grow out of control.

What's a good way to keep mushrooms in your tank, without turning your tank into an ALL mushroom tank?

Tips on positioning? maintenance? etc?

Also...what are some mushroom's ideal conditions? Flow? Shaded areas of the tank?

And if you put them in some of the shadier area's of the tank...will they still color up?

Well, definitely a newbie here but I have my mushrooms hiding in the shade at the bottom of my tank(the ones in the pictures above) and they are starting to color up like they are supposed to. Course I have over 5watts of light per gallon in a long (read shallow) tank and they are acclimating to greater light than they are used to. May pull them out of the shade a little bit after a few more weeks.

The rest I am too new at this to help with.

Well yes and no. they can grow and spread pretty good under the right conditions. exactly what are those conditions you might ask?... no really go ahead.....
we since you asked ( or at least one of the voices did )
Mushrooms or mushroom polyps ( see order Corallimorpharia)/corallimorphs are oftern placed in tanks that are smaller and some what "dirty" or in a newer system that "needs" to have something in it and is easy to care.. but....... the problem here is there are many differant types of Mushrooms and cousin's. Look at the ricordia..or even Dicosoma which are under the same order as the Mushroom...
each having a demand or lack of demand for lighing..and food
so not really an easy yes or no thing.....

more later...

here's my 'shroom having a snack. Evidently, he really really likes brine shrimp cause I've caught him doing this twice now right after I feed brine to the fish. Please forgive the fussy pic...it's w/ my camera phone. New skimmer is winning out over buying a digital camera - at least this month!

Here are a couple of my favourite striped shrooms. Sorry, pictures aren't great but colouring is accurate.
