mounting dislodged mushroom

I have a 5" diameter toadstool that has come off the rock work. I'm having trouble mounting him up again. When I bought him he was attached minimally to a piece of rubble that was epoxied to my rock work and now that he broke off of that there is nothing but a stem. How do I mount him up again without killing him.

Mushroom or a toadstool?

If it is a toad stool, you can just tuck it in between a couple of rocks and it will attach relatively fast.

Can you move you ph's away from the area you want him mounted for a week to 10 days?

I was thinking to pierce the stem with a couple of stainless steel pins and then fill a small paper or plastic cup (kinda something you would do jello shots out of) with fast setting epoxy and set it in there to form a base. Then i would have a small mouting pillar to attach to a rock with more epoxy or glue. Ive never had very good luck attaching anything to my rock work. Does anyone think the pins would harm it.

The tank is a 60 gal so fans blow everthing around only 12 in wide.

try using some big rubber bands (not too tight). i think wedging it between rocks should work, though.
