mixing corals


can I mix hard and soft corals in the same tank

Yes you can mix hard corals with soft corals.

why it is okay
what can happen if you do ( or what can not happen if you do)
what needs or should be done if you do..

Running carbon is a good idea when mixing soft and hard corals. Soft corals use toxins as a defense mechanism and carbon helps to remove these toxins. LPS corals generally use sweeper tentacles to defend their territory so care should be taken to keep hard corals seperate from other hard corals as well as softies.
