Hi Amy
Have these corals ever put of pylops? How long have you had them? Are there any other corals near by?
I found one of them in your FTS,... but can't see the other. Do they get good flow? Have you moved either of them reciently?

yup both have put out polyps. One is one the right saide of the ank one on the far left
I run carbon 24 7 and change it every 2.5 weeks give or take a few days
the smaller one is about 4 months old and has not been moved
bigger green one is new to my tank - about 3 weeks and hits the ground alot and gets righted "by the aquarist" I need to epoxy it but I am afraid too in case I need to take it out. That's a big rock to move and would destroy my aquascaping

How long have they looked poorly Amy??
If it has been less than a week or so......i wouldnt worry about it. Leathers do that from time to time. Are they shedding?
Ive got a devils hand that is nearly the size of a basketball, and every coupla months he will shrink to smaller than a softball for a few days to a week. I also have a smaller toadstool that does the same thing more or less.

This is exactally what I was thinking, My devil's hand leather also closes up and sheads from time to time, the more flow he gets the faster the sheading process will be. (but don't crank on him).
This goes for all my leathers BTW.
It can take up to a week to come back to normal.
My devil's hand leather also has lighter spots as well,... it seems that it's normal.

Oh, and my leathers don't like to be moved,... they always get mad at me for a while when I mess with them,.. so if you can avoid moving it that would be good.

I thnk they have been looking "unhappy" forabout 4-5 days? maybe 3-4... I am noticing a film coming off of them that I figured was sheadding, but the white parts look like something took a bite out of it - or hacked a part off... very willing to believe they are just shedding, but wanted to check and make sure they weren't exploding or gonna nuke the tank or any thing LOL

There not going to nuke the tank
That film is sheading,... that's normal and good. I could take a pic of mine if you like,... It also has lighter spots on it and it is doing well.
If it were my tank, I would probably move the leathers into a tad more light,... but I wouldn't worry about it.

Well since they keep falling off, I was thinking that when you put them back next time you can place them in a bit more light, and a more secure location.
The light at the very right and left ends of your tank is going to be much lower then the light toward the center of the tube sets.
