leather shedding again?

Okay how often do leathers shed? Mine does it after every water change. Its a cabbage btw. Is this okay?

My leather seems to be very sensitive to sudden water parameter changes (temp, pH or SG swings). You may want to look into your water change regimen. I had the same problem with my Tonga Leather when I first got it. I have since purchased a Refractometer and my water changes have gone much, much better. Apparently, I was pouring 10g of SW that was 1.027 or higher into my tank after a water change.

My old swing-arm hydrometer is now at the bottom of my trash can.

My salinity is constant. I was have 6-7 degree temp swings before I plugged the heater back in so that is probably what it is. We'll see.

Agreed...leathers arevery tempermental. I have a toadstool sarcophyton which freaks out for a week when there is any change such as charcoal...phos remover...temp...ect. It will retract and slime for a while but I just leave it be and it comes back

yep diffinatly temperature. We had a hot day here and I didn't have the ac on, hadnt needed to run it in a couple of weeks. Tank temp got to 83. No one else looks worse for the ware but my leather once again has slimed up and looks terrible. At least now I know its normal and will be back to his normal self in a few days.
