ID help please

Hi everyone, I am very new to reef tanks, and im just wondering if any knows the name of this blue guy and weather he is good or bad for my tank? How do I tell if he is even still alive? He was on my live rock and when I was aquascaping he fell off. Thank-you,

looks like an encrusting sponge. Not a bad thing to have. It is is probably still alive.

It does seem to still be a live. It is attached firmly to a piece of live rock. It is fairly firm and the skin has a smooth texture. I tried to look for pictures of the encrusting sponge and found tons, just they all looked different. Thank-you
