Hairy Mushrooms Bleached.
I had not seen my tank in a few days, cause i have not been able to make it to my sisters house. What can i do to help them not bleach any further. I have a 24Gallon nano, under power compacts. and the mushroom rock is laying flat on the sand bed.

So just flip them over face down in the sand? what could have caused them to bleach so rapidly if they are on the sand bed in a 24 gallon nano?

no...i thought you said that the shroms were in the sand under gravel,,what i ment was put the shrooms in direct light..sorry for the mis-understanding. not enough minerals in the water can bleach them..also temperature

I purchased a chiller, a cl-85 but its not pulling down the tempature at all. i think the natural tank temp is about 82-83 degrees with the lights on for a few hours. could that damage it? if so, why is this chiller not working?

check your SG level also. mine tend to lose a bit of color if the SG changes too fast

Is this the style with the canopy? If so prop the lid up a little and put a fan blowing over the water. I did this and the temp stayed about 78. My yuma got zapped by my carpet anemone and went from green to clear overnight. I thought it was a gonner. Anyway, I moved it lower in the tank far from the carpet and it recovered. Sometimes when they are sick shade works better. Also give it some fish pellet or mysis, something substantial to eat.

I think its recovering colors are comming back. I removed the lid that you lift to feed, and the tank stays at about 81 with the lights on all day. before the temp would rise up to about 86 or so. But the evaporation is alot. I guess is hould have gotten a bigger chiller.
