Growing Corals

I feel kinda stupid asking this but I just recently changed my tank from basicly a FOWLR to the beginings of a reef tank. All I realy did is change the lights from cheap fluorescent lights to 2 250w metal halides. (This is on a 75 gallon tank) and I slowly let the coral get adjusted by having it on for only a hour for the first few days then working my way up to nine hours over the next few weeks. So now I've had them on 9hrs a day for a few weeks now and I'm not seening a kind of growth on my coral. I belive it's a finger leather, if my memory serves me right. It's close to the top of the tank with good flow, and I do a water change once a week. So basicly I'm asking what does a person have to do to properly grow corals, ie are there supplemetns that I should be adding to my tank or what. So please help, because I'd like to have lots of corals. Thanks.

You need to be more patent than that, it might take years for it to really grow out.

Past that you need to test your perams, NO3, CA, ALK, P04, MG, PH, make sure everything is in line, then just let things grow.

You can but with 2 250w MH's over the tank you don't really need much supps. Strontium/Molyblendium, Coral Vite, & Iodine are some things I add a smigine (little) of every week or so!

Are your calcium levels good?

I would not add ANYTHING you can't test for.
