Devil's Hand Question

hey everyone, i have another newbie question. While i try to avoid impulse buying i couldn't help myself and ended with this beautiful devil's hand soft coral. it looks totally awesome. However during feeding today i noticed it spurting out a yellow-white slime and i was wondering is this normal? And secondly is it toxic to the other corals in the tank? I'm wondering if i need to increase my carbon filter or not. Any advice on this one??

I had one for a few years... never noticed it "spurting" yellow-white slime. Sure it's not just shedding its outer layer?

According to Borneman: "Many Lobophytum species can cause significant damage to stony corals even without actual contact taking place. Many are considered to be in the "most toxic" category, with more than 20 different terpenoid compounds isolated from various species."

that's what i'm worried about. But the strange thing is in most of the sites i've founs online they say it's very easy coral to maintain and makes an excellent addition to a reef tank, but i haven't read anything that speaks to the downsides. Do you know where i can find more research on it?
