Crazy Zoa

OK i bought some live rock and when i put it in i found i had gotten a really dark purple zoa with it. Strange thing is is it doesnt like light. it only opens at night and when the lights come on he closes up. It has also moved to the underside of the rock twice. LOL might be crazy idk. has me boggled. Anyone ever had anything like this besides me? I didnt think they could move. I also got a really bright green one with red on the tips really nice never seen one like it.

probably not a zoa... they don't tend to move much.

it may be a majano nem.

Definitely going to need a picture of this one. I am tagging along as you have peaked my curiosity with your description of it.

I wonder what the chances are of it being a black sun coral polyp. You might try feeding it at night to see what it grows into. Very interesting to say the least.

Not a suncoral if it moves.Sounds more like some sort of small nem.Try feeding something small such as a brine shrimp when it's open and my guess is it'll grab it.
You may never find exactly what it is.I've had several things in my tank for years that i've never identified.
