It all depends on the lighting.
I find if you can run a 20,000k bulb you will get the best color out of mostly all corals.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

All my turned colors. From pretty colors (all kinds) to brown when I killed them, does that count?

Yeah, nothing worse than buying the greatest looking coral only to get home and it looks blah under your lights. I just did that with some bright yellow zoa's.

It is quite common to find more than one color of zoanthid on the same rock, the problem I usually run into is that the uglier color overtakes the prettier one.
Lighting plays a huge role in the coloration of the corals as well. I like to keep a couple of zoa frags from the same colony in different lighting conditions just to see what happens at times.

I'll second aquawolf. The best thing u can do when u get 2 colors on a single colony is try and seperate them. truth is nature pretty zoas need better conditions than ugly ones, so if they had to compete for the same space...uglies win! alas that aint true with humans, but well...go ugly zoas!! kick them pretty faces off thou rock!
