isnt Red slime alge caused by dirty water ? i had an outbreak a few months ago cuz i thought i could go a month or two without changing water..didnt do so well.

all Im saying is it may do better somwhere in between too clean and too dirty.

Red slime is cyano bacteria, not sure dirty water is the cause of it, but it surely feeds it once its there.

If yours is healthy and not spreadding to fast concider your self lucky. I can become a weed if you dont keep it seperated from your rockwork.

it took me a solid 4 hours to tear this of with tweezers and it still grows back every few months. the only thing is that you have to get every pit of it off. the tiniest piece of tissue will make polyps within days.

And man, this is the most horid smell in the world when you try to remove it. i vomited at least 3 times. dont let it get out of hand.
