Are Anemone touchable? when you buy them, can you hold them and put them in the tank? or move them with hand? etc..

I think it depends more on the exact anenome and its potency. Most people recommend using rubber gloves to protect your skin because some people have been known to have serious alergic reactions to the sting from them.
Personally when I put my Long Tentacle in my tank I just used my bare hands. There was a slight tingle, but only if you touch the tentacles. I think it really just depends on your bravery or stupidity whatever the case may be. lol

I've touched a few putting them in my tank and have never had any issues. Like Drew said it would only be a problem if you are allergic to them. Once they are in the tank they probably wouldn't like be handled too much.

The only major problem with using your hand is that you probably don't already know if you are allergic to it or not. So, if you are home alone and decide to touch it and then have a bad reaction, and possibly anaphalactic shock, then it could be the first and last time you do so.
Not trying to paint a grim picture, but it is definitely something to keep in mind.

A good rule of thumb in order to keep from being a ER statistic is to never touch anything in your tank without gloves

Haha, I wouldn't risk it either! I use my fish net if I have to move a wondering anemone.

I actually read somewhere that the more common allergy is from the BTA. My BTA does not bother me its my Condy that gives me a itchy feeling.

touching lta, bta and corals don't hurt me, but i do get a rash if i touch bubble corals. carpet anemone's do feel like getting poked in the fingers by needles...not neccessarily painful, but enough to know what you touched

I was re arranging my tank last night and had to move my Condy to keep from smashing him. And I had to hold him for about 1 minute in order to get him to place his foot on the rock and when I pulled my hand out tof the tank I noticed it had made a layer of skin peel everywhere he was touching my had, it also felt a little bit numb for about 10 minutes.

I took a nasty sting from a Dwarf Lion about two weeks ago. I agree with the other poster, that hurt like crazy. Carpet anemone's can be pretty nasty as well. On my hand I feel very little, but if they get on your wrist or arm it can hurt a bit.
