Awww, shucks.
I had about given up on the anthelia. When I first got it from IPSF I took the rock and all out of the water: a big no-no according to some sources. The entire colony (about 10) disintegrated and only that small piece was left. It eventually grew, laid across the rock and sprouted new polyps.
I am rather proud of them both but I'll probably be cussin' them in a year or so.

over a period of 2-4 years you might get an ''infestation'' if you want to call it that...but hard corals can & sometimes DO grow just as fast...so its not just anthellia, xenia, stars, toadstools...the list goes on...nice for 4 months growth tho

Looks great! Your right,.. in some time they can really take over, but the trick is to keep them on one rock.

No biggie right now. I'm trying to get as varied and healthy a population as possible in the 20 because I'll probably end up changing the 77 over to reef within the next few years (I totally blame y'all ).
Anybody know where I can get a 500 cheap?

I know where you can get a 500,
It really depends on what the word "Cheap" means to you though.

Ya great growth shots. I agree on the take over. I wonder if absolute control or if you have something else like mushrooms or leather coral declare war on might be another good term 8 ) They can do that too. They all want it all.

Well, free, dude!
Thanks, but I'm not ready yet and I have several reserve tanks in case I need to expand any time soon. I'm going to dedicate this next year to paying off the plastic.

From what I've read , nothing will hold back Stars. Do y'all think Anthelias could be confined with Zoos or Palys, maybe even 'shrooms or rics?
