what is this on my blasto?

I've got a really pretty 3 head frag of blastomussa merletti that I've had for a few weeks and I've got something off to the side of it that I can't figure out. The shape is like a monti cap, but obviously I don't have a sps growing on the side of my lps

It's a lot smaller than the polyps and as purple as really bright purple coralline algae would be. Is it just some odd sort of coralline that branches out in pads like that?
