I watched micromussa fragged in december with a dremel, THere is going to be a LPS fragging demon Saturday that may refresh my memory on the process.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

How thick is it. Generally what i see done is cutting it with a dremel from the back, trying to not cut mouths down the center. Some more sensitive LPS require cutting so far with a dremel and then using a razor to cut tissue. Heat is your enemy, do not let the blade get very warm or it can kill tissue.

dremel with a diamond wheel is the best bet. Band saw works well, too. Chisel or bone cutters can work, but it's with much less precision.

Inland DB100 diamond saw. Can be found cheaper but here is the company site.

Acans are one of the more difficult corals to frag. You can do basic cuts with the dremel on small thin colonies. For getting between the polyps and cutting them safely, the diamond band saw is a must. I have done it with a regular bandsaw and it's tricky to not do more damage than good. The polyp tissue goes much deeper into the base than you would think.

I've seen it done very successfully with a wet tile saw.

This is speculative...
Couldn't you get a dremel extention (the long flexy thing) and use a diamond blade on it but do it under water to keep heat to a minimum? You would obviously have to take the end of the dremel extention apart and clean and lub it after every frag session. You would also definatly want to be on a GFI circuit!!!
