tongue coral

Can I put a tongue coral on LR or do I have to put it in my sandbed?

it is a fungia... they will move if they don't like where they are put..... the biggest problem with placing them on the rock, is the livestock in your tank will knock it of and that can damage the skeleton or flesh. Best bet is to put in in the sandbed. And don't worry about it getting covered up. it will move the sand off of itself. If it does get buried.... watch it very closely and you will see it move the sand by inflating its flesh. Kinda cool to watch..... but takes awhile.

I have also found that hand feeding them at least once a week keeps them happy.
