size okay?

I was planning on a zoo/shroom only tank for a while, but I have plenty of light on the tank and was wondering if the 2 LPS I like would go alright in it. I have a 10 gallon tank with a 65 watt 50/50 PC light on it.

The ones I like are fox corals and candy canes. First, would UI have enough/not too much liight? Second, would either outgrow the tank, and not be able to be pruned back when needed? Third, I'm going to have zoos, a mushroom(likely) and a patch of green star polyps in there. Would they be incompatible?

you could probably get away with that just fine. keep the lps midway to higher up in the tank for best results.

Alrightey then I just figured I should ask before getting either and killing both, resulting in a crashed tank>_>

considering the pod I have has 32 watt day 32 watt acentic pc and my lps were quite happy I think they will be fine where ever you put them. The softies may even want to go a little lower depending on the light they are under at the lfs. Eventually even softies love higher lighting. The lps will grow but then you get to frag and trade or get credit at some lps. Most of mine are branching and they break fairly easy when I need to frag.

They're under MH at the store. Doubt they'll fry wherever I put them when they go into my system

They will be happy........ I have 2 65w PC on my 10 and I have been running just one bulb and the LPS seem happy......If they grow to much, just frag them and get some LFS credit or hook a fellow reefer up!

So they WILL be okay under that light then? That's what I've been hearing at my LFS and with as bright as the tank/my room is I didn't think I had to worry too much, especially on such a short tank, yet someone on another forum told me all I'd be able to keep is softies.

Also, how much flow do candy canes like? I was planning on the left side of the tank, but they'd be blasted almost non stop by my powersweep. Probably not a great thing for them... Well, at least once they grow a bit. When I first get the frag it'd be in a bit of the flow under the thing, since it flows(mostly) straight across the tank.

You should be fine, just watch things and if they seem odd get another bulb......but I have two and ahve been running only one 50/50 for the last week and all seem fine.....I am just keeping close eye on them.

'I just want healthy happy corals...don't need great growth.

Plus these are frags that were iunder 250w MH in my 110g tank! So they were used to lots of light and are content just under the 65w PC
