For now, I would find it a low flow area on the sand. The other elegance should be in a low flow area as well. Stick the point on the bottom of the skeleton in the sand, but do not touch the top edge while you do it. Ya, I know it will be a little tricky with the elegance you have, but..........
Elegance corals can be placed right next to each other with no harm. I don't think that had anything to do with it. The damaged tissue around the edge probably isn't helping matters much. If you can get it into a lower flow area and infection doesn't set in, it should begin to open back up very soon.
