the propagation of corals is not also that easy. some corals release a sperm cloud only after a full moon , while other do this a bit often... i will see what i can find

your talking about the Fungia sp. right?

according to the books, they reproduce either by injury or being a bit buried in substrate and they are in danger of death..

soooo not sure i would want to risk it

the book info is fromthe cross checking wihthe Aq.corals/Borneman and corals a ref. / Sprung
the sperm cloud is from coral reefs journal, reef notes section this month.
the moon light thing is a sometimes it works sometimes it does not. the reported clouds were seen anywhere from 24 to 72 hours later and at night , but a few areas and differnt types of coral were seen during the day light hours..

I hope you have great luck with your plate. I have a plate that was doing wonderful then one day it started dying for no reason. I even fen it mysis once a week. The rest of my tank is doing great and my water is in spec. Corals are funny little guys.
