open brain problem

i got an open brain about 2 and a half months ago. when i bought it the first week it did not realy opne up, but then after the second week and on it wuold get huge..it seemed to have been expanding its tissue more and more, but then about 3 weeks ago it just wuold not open up. i have never fed it anything..i just put some drops of Kent microvert about twice a week. all my parmateters seem fine...salinity-1.026, nirate-5, nitrite and ammonia and phospate-0, ph-8.2, alk-9, ca-425, mag-1400,temp-79-80...all my other corals seem to be doing fine. so when i noticed this, i thuoght i shuold try to feed it so i tried to feed to babay brine shrimp but it will not even open its mouth even when i wave food over it for 5 minutes...it is so stubborn... i cant feed it if it wont open up its mouth. it this normal? what can i do? its not dead b/c they color is still bright green, but the tissue just wont expand?

I linked this in your other thread also Richie, What worked for me was shading the brain and feeding shrimp pellets

I just got one and didn't know what it looked like when it wasn't all "pinched up" looking so I sat there last night with my red light looking at it... It had the little tenticles out and it's 2 mouths open and it was all puffed up and neat looking... I have another coral that has a mouth and it usually doesn't open it's mouth until I actually put food on it, then it sucks down the food - neat thing to watch.... Try putting food on yours (at night if you have to) and see if it responds...
