Need Suggestions....

I have a hammer that is slowly dying off. When we got it, it had a corner that the skeleton was exposed. Each day more and more of it is dead. It is starting to make my ammonia go up, so yesterday I blew off all the parts of it that were dead. This morning, there is a small area that has died off again. My water is ok, the number are starting to change since it was decaying in the tank. Nitrates-20, Nitrites-0, Amm-.25, Alk-norm, Ph-8.2, Ca-550, Sal-34, SG-1.026. I'll try to attach a pic. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I've taken a drimmel and cut off the dead area just at the edge of the remaining meat. I've also treated the dead/ live edge with iodine, but I'm not sure it does any good.

I'd love to hear other suggestions. We're always getting ridge corals in that are damaged.

drop it to the bottom in the sand and try some target feeding for starters. do mysis or cyclopeeze.

Do some searches on "brown jelly disease."

With enough flow, food and light; you might be able to bring it back. Iodine treatments will usually stop further "decay."

One the plagues of a flabello-meandroid coral.
