I put a frogspawn in a tank w/ a 9 watt light. it didn't thrive, but it didn't die. I had it in there for almost a year. Otherwise, you should probably stick to mushrooms. I since upgraded it to a 2 x 20 T5 light and the shrooms and the Frogspawn look much better. I have also added a candycane, which is doing great under the t5's.
