Open brains:
Trachyphyllia Radiata (was Wellsophylia), flat bottom, or Metallic Green Flat Open Brain:
Red and yellow open brains, conical bottom, Trachyphyllia geoffroyi:
Scolymia, or donut coral, on the back - pink Lobophyllia
The second image is how you can see Scolymia in store, same coral at arrival. Vey hardy, IMHE:
Pink Lobophyllia, shortly Lobo, cliff-like bottom:
Article on Scolymia and Cynarina is here.
Cynarina Lacrymalis, or tooth coral. The last image is how you can see it in the store. Very sensitive, IMHE, contracts if something is wrong:

This drab brain, at the best of my knowledge, is the Spiny Brain Coral, or
Symphyllia valenciennesi or Symphyllia valenciennesii. Multimouthed, the second photo - ready to eat, the last - eating:
Euphyllids:Branching hammers and frogspawn, together. Euphyllia parancora and E. fimbriata (not used now, article is here),
Quote:
|
fimbriata species had T-shaped tentacle or polyp ends while ancora's were curved
|
, Frogspawn - Euphyllia paradivisa:

Blastomussa Merletti, prefers more light, than usually recommended. The last image - at arrival. I would prefer this color to brown:

Candycane or trumpet corals:
they come indifferent shapes and colors, I didn't know that then:
Neon-green candycane, or trumpet coral, possibly Caulastrea curvata or furcata, different sources tell different. Tolerates dirty water and the least amount of light, this is at 18W 50-50 PC:

This was bleached, I expected it to be the same green, but the same coral later:
(possibly Caulastrea furcata or Caulastrea timida), ball-shaped eventually, requires much more light (under 72W PC, 10g).
The second image - first week from the store:

Same coral in the morning - blue-green shade. Above is the third kind of Trumpet coral, this time thick-stemed and bicolor. Latin species name is unknown to me; didn't tried it at low light:

Last, but not lest, the Sun coral, Tubastrea. Could be Tubastrea coccinea or Tubastrea aurea. Non-photosynthetic and need to be fed 2-3 cubes of mysis or ocean plankton twice a week, each polyp. Strong light and nutrients in water can cause algae growth. Like the idea of species tank, under actinic light, with firefishes.
This way you see them in the store, closed:

Starting to open, under actinics:

Several months later, fully open:

Spawned babies:

They are pretty hardy, can be touched and removed, glued by CA glue. Better to keep them in good flow, than in netted dish.

Reason: long lines, large photo by mistake.

Australogyra zelli
An Australogyra zelli. Aboslutely LOVE this coral. A BEAUTIFUL turquoise color, and a very unique piece. If anyone else has one, I'd be VERY interested to see pics and hear about your car of them.
I've had this guy for over a year and a half. Seems to be doing pretty good. Not really growing much, but not receeding either. Since I can't find much info on this guy, I'll take that. hahaa (specially over 18 months).
Here's a closer shot of the polyps on this guy:
(UPDATED macro shot. 2 years after I got him)
Here's the thread where the TRT crew helped me ID the guy. Not much there, but still the most info I've seen on this species

Is it OK if I add a few pictures to this ?
Purple Tipped Catalaphyllia Jardenii (Elegance Coral).
These are left to right;
Alveopora (always has 12 lashes on each polyp)
Fox Coral (nemenzophyllia turbida)
Goniopora (always has 24 lashes on each polyp).
Torch coral (Euphyllia glabrescens)
Physogyra sp (Octobubble, Pearl bubble coral)
Finally, a very close up pic of Blastomussa Merlettii.

Here's one in my collection that no one has posted yet...
Mycedium elephantotus (Elephant Nose) - under actinics
Mycedium elephantotus (Elephant Nose) - Under full lighting, with some sweepers extended
And just for fun...
Plerogyra sinuosa (Green Bubble) - under actinics
Euphyllia divisia (Frogspawn) - under full lighting

Is this cold- green frogspawn a color morph of a warm-green frogspawn with pink tips (or vice versa), or is it bleached?
I bought recently this cold-green one too, and wondering, if it has any special requirements. Any information?
Thanks.

I'm not really sure... I'm figuring it's just a different color variation. I picked it up because I liked the fact that it was a little different looking than the ones you usually see.
