LPS Fragging Question

I am sure this has been covered before, but my search-fu appears to be lacking. Are there any threads/articles on here for fragging Hammers and Frogspawns?

I have a hammer with probably 8 heads on it (golf ball sized?), that I would like to make into 2 or 4 smaller hammers. I am under the impression with a branching hammer you just cut near the base and call it good. Is that correct?

The frogspawn is a single large head...probably the size of a softball. How would I go about splitting it since all the "flesh" seems to be in the middle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The hammer you need to use a trimmer to cut the frag at the base of the branch. The frogspawn you will kill it if you try to frag now. Wait till it branches into more than one polyp and then do the same that you did to your hammer.

dude i snap all my branching euphyllias like a wishbone and send the on their merry way. if you try to frag shorter branches you may need to be more careful. it sounds like you have a wal type frog spawn you could try a diamond blade on a dremel and cutting the polyp with a razor but ther is no way i would do that. that is why i only buy branching euphyllias.

Yeah, rumor has it that "wall" corals are a PITA to frag. I will have to keep that in mind in the future.
