Just makin sure...
Is sun coral and dendros arent the same are they? I know they look generaly the same, but I think there different. Especially when you can buy a colony of 20 polyps of sun coral for about $40 and one polyp of dendro is usualy around $40 or so.

NO Dendronpethya is way different from sun polyps...looks..food supply..care level every thing, view some of these threads by me & Reefyone..all the info you will find guaranteed ..Dendronepthya is for now..impossible to keep over 7 months..longest recorded so far..sun polyps are not..there has been many recorded cases of succesful aquaculter of these corals..but water quality is a main issue..skim really well..weekly water changes is a must..because these corals DO NOT feed from photosyhtesis..
sorry about no replys...there is little '' Filter Feeder Keepers'' on TRT..or RC for that matter.

yea & thats with all the foods, Zoo,Phyto,Chroma, Baby Brine,Marine Snow...something else is missing from the food chain..maybe fish or crustation eggs/fry who knows..but all it ends up doing is causing cyano bacteria even in the healthiest tanks..study after study has been conducted by world leading labs & marine biologist..& they all come back with the same results as i did & others before me..
but there is hope, we have proven succesful or 70 % success with many filter feeding corals..such as Chili (Nepthyigorgia) Sun Polyps & some Gorgonians..but at a price..im still suffering from cyano from keeping my chili..& most keepers do at some point..& i suffered an allergic reaction to coral or Cyano (most likely) last month. my fault i didnt use gloves but still a price to pay
good luck & think about it alot before making a purchase

SOrry I missed this post.
He's not asking about the Dendronepthya. He's asking about Dendrophylia. Dendrophylia and the Tubaestra(Sun Coral) are very similar in appearance and care. In general the Dendrophylia have much larger polyps roughly the size of a quarter. I've heard that the Dendrophylia aren't being imported any longer, hence the price tag. However, I have no way to verify this.

I have been looking at Roe's Marine World (Website). I really want some duncans and some dendros, but shipping is a pain ($Price$). I have only seen a duncan at LFS and it was $100 for a head. Just gotta save up and order some one day I guess.
