ok, we need the numbers for your parameters... Xenia loves dirty water so i would not use them as an indicator. also you mention good flow, do you mean high medium or low? you want this guy to be in med to low flow. if the water is agressevly pushing the polyps around then your flow is too high.

These are NO bulbs, and only 125W of them,... I really don't think you have enough light to keep this coral. Whomever told you to put it at the bottom probably was thinking you were running MH, or at least PC.

I agree that gauging your water quality by your xenias health is probably one of the worst possible indicators you could choose. Xenia not only tend to like dirtier water........they are fickle from one tank to another as far as what makes them tick.

As far as if there is hope for that coral. Most definitely. There is tons of life left in it. Just need to get it on an upward heatlh trend instead of a downward one. And it needs to happen soon it appears. If moving him up in your reef doesnt help, i would consider new lights or giving him to someone who has stronger lighting. I would also try giving it a little bit of blender mush every night.....regardless of whether or not its feeders are out. The smell might stimulate it to after a few nights stick a few out and start to eat.

I dont ever feed mine directly, but i would if he was looking poorly.

WEll its polyps never fluffed up when it was at the bottom, they stay plump all the time now..1 side of the stone is getting pretty strong current, cause it shares it with my chili.it has been getting more green since it was moved to the highest point in my tank & is getting spikey stubs as its tentacles.just wanted to make sure it has at least a 80% chance.i feed it all forms of plankton,Chroma,Phyto, & Zoo.how many watts of light is required for these corals ?
