today I touched the base of it and it feels like its splitting into another head, and I saw another mouth close to another one. I touched it because I thought it looked like it had more tentacles.

Just a little FYI ...

If you get/have a hammer, frogspawn, etc that seems to have died off (loss of tissue), never throw it out too fast (unless of course it was badly diseased).

When I acquired a 75g tank (and all it's livestock) in May '06 there was what I thought was a frogspawn with 3 live heads on it. I guess from all the stress of the move, those 3 heads all lost their tissue within the first week. I just stuck the skeleton up in the back corner of the tank as an extra piece of LR and to my surprise about 3 months later I had 5 new "sprouts" starting to grow. They now look like this (and I think it's a hammer) .....

just take em' and break em'. ill post my hammer pics later (my attachments is full) but i just fragged mine for the 1st time last week. doing great.but if you want to get certian heads its best to use cutters from a fish store.or local hardware stores might sell cutting tools that will do the job..hammer's bone's are actually weak.
