HELP! my hammer looks like it's dying

I can't seem to get any pic's to load. But my hammer looks to be dying. one end of it is starting to shrivel up and the whole thing is pretty much closed up. All my levels seem fine PH 8.0 nitrates 10 , nitrites 0, cal. 400. Ammonia 0. Sal. 1.024.My tank is 2 1/2 months old the hammer is 5 weeks old until now it has been growing like crazy. I know it's hard without pics but any suggestions?

I have 2 PH with 1200gph each and my two inlets 1000gph total. My lighting, I have 8 t5's 4 10k and 4 actinic they are 2 months old and are on 12hours a day. I don't see any type of fungus or anything on it. it looks fine but its just melting away. It was fine one day the next it was closed and then I could start to see the skeleton a little more each day.

What kind of photoperiod did they have the LFS?
This happened to me when I bought some frogspawn, my lighting was better then the LFS and it shocked it.
This may not be the same thing though because with mine the entire piece started to shirvel and receed but also turned clearer everyday.

They have the same lighting as i do. It did great for 3-4 weeks and then one day just started melting away at one end. it finally worked its way to about half of it and as of now its doing fine? I've talked to some others that bought wall hammer from the same batch a the LFS and most all of them had the same problem, maybe just a bad batch?

wall hammers are sooooooooo prone to brown jelly infection. i love euphyllias a but i won't buy a wall hammer anymore because they just don's seem to be as hardy as frogspawn or torches. branching hammers seem to do a little better and i am probably going to add one to my tank this coming weekend to complete my euphyllia patch (about 1/4 or more of my tank). the palce i buy most of my stuff is about to put some nice ones on sale. i'm going to have to relocate a couple of small millis to place it where i want it. this is probably going to have all my sps on one side of the tank and all euphyllia on the other. it's going to look off balance until i get more sps growth but oh well.
