Frogspawn Coral question

hey, So Not exatly new to saltwater, but have just began adding a few corals into my tank. I have a 40g breeder, with 20 gallon sump/refugium, skimmer, Coral life 150halide with 2 compacts 60 or 90 watts not sure and lunar LEDs. A clown fish, bicolor blenny, and pseudochromis, had some peppermints that may or maynot have just had babies. but im wondering about LPS vs SPS

My buddy gave me some zooanthus polyps to revive, he didnt want them and i took them for free. and 2 frog spawn corals.

Frog spawn are LPS right? and what do you recomend as far as current, and direct/indirect lighting.

any major differences in care for the LPS vs SPS that you use

thanks

I notice my frogspawn gets way bigger in a lower flow rate. Which required me to put a small peice of tonga live rock next to it to stop some of the flow. The flow is up a little higher then it likes in order to keep other LPS happy on the bottom of the tank. Also I have a clownfish that kind of hosts it. It ticked the frogspawn off for 3-4 months before the frogspawn got used to it.

Frogspawn definitely likes higher lighting and lesser flow. If returns are not directed at the frogspawn but rather over the top or along its sides, then they seem to open up and become quite large.

I have a purple frogspawn the size of a basketball in my 240.

I added a two headed frogspawn about 5 weeks ago and it now has five heads. It's in a moderate light area with low flow.

Frog spawns are definitely LPS they usually like high to medium lightning levels, as far as current and water flow they prefer low current but they still do well under moderate current. It is not uncommon to see your clown swimming next to it or as if it were a host anemone. In the aquarium clown's dont find host anemones to live in they will take up any type of euphylid as hosts, like your frog spawn in this case. Your frog spawn will maybe not open up to its maximum for a week or so until he gets used to your clown. Make sure you dont put corals to near your frog spawn as their sweeper tentacles (these are tentacles that they grow longer on purpose to sting other corals) may kill or severely damage other corals. If you want to introduce an anemone to your tank just be aware that they move on their own if they dont like the spot they land in or the one you place them in, this may be a problem because many species of anemones are toxic and they can harm corals. Also be aware that they have to be feed but they will almost always receive food when you feed your fishes, and that if they die they are severely toxic and they can kill everything within a few hours specially in a small tank like yours.
