Favia at night

I have what I think is a pineapple coral and during the day it is sweet and mild mannered looking. But last night I had to turn on the light for a sec and I saw a completely different beast! It had sweepers and was more puffed up. Is that normal and are they protecting?

the pineapple Favia or MoonStone is a nocturnal coral with sweeper tentacles that can stretch 2 to 3 inches from the polyps, they will eat small inverts, small fish such as neon goby's & you can target feed them all kinds of foods such as brine shrimp, mysis, krill, anything it can grab. do not keep any other corals besides other moon stones near it they will kill other corals. under the right conditions they can creat an extremly large colony & take over. to frag use a hammer & chisel, you will have to kill a few polyps along the cut line, but if it grows too much it will need cut it back.
