Welcome to TRT!!!

What type of coral is that supposed to be? How long has your tank been set up? It almost looks like it is the skeletal remains of a coral with some diatoms on it, if I am seeing it properly.

It is aposed to be branching hammer coral... There are still polyps, they are sucked in in the picture but during the day they come out a little still... I am worried about the bronish growth on the inner skeleton and green growth on the outside... Tank has been set up for 2 months now... Had the coral for 2 weeks. I just did a fresh water dip, slimed like crazy but got a lot of stuff cleaned with a soft tooth brush, I either killed it completely or saved it, its back in the tank now, I guess I will find out in the morning... My other hammer and green torch are doing great, my bubble has been acting weird lately but it might be flow related... Buubles are just not big thats all....

How does the coral look today?

Sometimes they can be affected by a disease that looks kind of like a brown jelly and it will quickly destroy an entire colony. The only treatment I know for that is to frag off the healthy pieces and throw out the infected ones.

Best of luck with whatever it is.

Took it to LFS and they told me its pretty much dead, there was a very small branch that was healthy, its on a frag disc right now... Oh well... It seemed like it was dying when i got it...

Sorry about that, hopefully the frag will do well and grow out for you.

when you notice a LPS starting to die off like that, you can try and use airline tubing to siphon off the dead/necrotic tissue. Then try a giving the coral a bath of iodine solution like TM Pro Coral Cure or similar product. In this application the iodine will act as an antiseptic and hopefully kill prevent the spread of the tissue necrosyis.
