I have one, Its AWESOME. find a shady area with low -medium flow. They are non-photosynthetic so it will have to be fed somewhat regularly. I feed mine cyclopese They like to be upside down. They thrive in the wild in the opening of caves upside down. They bloom at night and extend small polyps, mine is 1/3 of the size during the day and gets pretty big at night. your 3 inch chili will probably get 6-8 inchs at night depending on how happy it is. I think its pretty easy to take care of as long as you feed it.

I have a chili coral. It's located in the bottom of my tank under a shelf. It feeds at night. Thus, it is important to feed at different times to ensure that the chili gets fed.

well Im not the guy to tell you how to control your water parameters sorry, I know there are plenty of really smart people on here. Post a thread in the General Reef Discussion about your akh ,ph and phosphate problem. They will be able to help you much better then I. Normally the less chemicals in your tank the better. I bought a bunch of chemicals when i first started and i swear its like Voodoo magic.
I will try to get a picture of mine for you. And post it here asap. cyclopeeze a food like brine shrimp, but it consists of phytoplankton i think. its a lot smaller so its probably better for the small polyps on the chili coral. I have had a lot better luck with brine shrimp then mysis shrimp. its like a lower flow rate too.
Im pretty sure its a Leather Coral, not a LPS. good luck!

Cyclopeeze I think is a zooplankton, It comes in frozen cubes, frozen bars, freeze dried flakes or a powder. I forget what they call the powder, they have a different name for it. But it is a great product.

Try posting another thread. I have great luck with this site, i wouldn't have my tank with them. To tell you the truth, I used to test everything, it made me so paranoid it drove me crazy and i bought all the chemicals and started dosing this and that. And nothing ever was perfect. I let everything flow and let my corals tell me whats up. I do a 20% ro/di water change every 4 weeks or sooner if i feel needed. Make sure you get a high quality salt or you will have problems. I get my water from culligan because im to lazy to wait for my on RO/DI to fill up 20 gallons lol. DONT get walmarts ro/di water its crap. when you do regular water changes it will help replenish a lot of things. I hardly ever add cal since i dont have any SPS. I do add iodine maybe once a month. and some Coral vits even less. My tank has been up for 8-9 months. But give it another try in the General. List your equipment and what your concerns are.

http://liveaquaria.com/ i have gotten tons of stuff from them. I would hold back on the xenias and brains for a while until you get your water stable, because a lot of them are very sensitive to water fluctuations. You'll end up ordering them and then dieing and your out your coral and the shipping . For now try to stay with some mushrooms and polyps. There are a few LPS that are pretty hardie, but i ended up killing a few and wasting money because I didnt have very stable water at first and I was dosing tons of stuff. I put way to much alk into one of my water changes and killed like $150 worth of stuff.

Also when i setup my tank, I let my liverock cure inside my tank. It took FOREVER because i wasn't blowing the rock off with a power head and i wasn't doing enough water changes. You'll have massive algae and cyano if you don't wait a minimal 1 month of letting it cure.

I have heard xenias are a little challenging, I never had 1 myself. But I was going to get 1 when I first got into the hobby and the somebody told me not to because they were difficult to keep. I don't know if thats true or not though.
