BUBBLE Coral FRAG Procedures

***disclaimer****
I am by no means a fraggin' pro! So take these as general instructions. However, I had great luck w/ the following tools and procedures, and nobody including my self was hurt and all corals are doing great!

Tools: Bucket w/ some tank water, dremel w/ 3" cutoff wheel, screwdriver, and a Bubble coral !

The bubble coral breing fragged started out as a large ~7" expanded specimin! He was getting big and I was ready to experiment!

I removed him from the tank planning to frag into 2 maybe three sections.....well I ended up with 4 . I began by cutting him through the back as deep as I could go but not cutting the flesh part. I would cut a little and then dunk and swoosh gently in the bucket until it would crack easily w/ the screwdriver. I would try to crack it open while trying not to tear the soft flesh.......Unfortuantly I didn't get many pics The picture on the right is one half of the frag that was mad into two. As you can see the cut in the second picture. The first cut I made resulted in a very small frag as I didn't cut as staright as I wanted. You'll see the small frag later! But these should give you an idea of the cutting process.

I then placed the cracked frag sections into the tank to await the 7-10 process of the flesshy part to separate. Well the first cut I made resulted in one little frag that separated on it's own immediatly???? The other two separated involuntarily thanks to my clown and snails knocking into them. Although ideally it is best to let them separate over time mine were separated into complete sections on the same day of fragging and are doing fine!

Here they are shortly after being added back to the tank!

Here they were about two days later..... The two little ones up high I don't think cared too much for the flow. I have moved and seem better!

Well the two larger frags are doing really good. While the two smaller frags keep getting knocked down or back into the rock crevices so they don't appear as happy. They appear OK but not as fully expanded as I hoped!
