Brain Help?

55 gal 4x65 watt PC's.

Hey need some help, just brought home a nice weso brain and pagoda coral. Everything else in my tank is fine water parameters are good. Did not replace lights recently.

Ammonia= 0.25 (almost 0)
nitrate= 0
Phosphate= 0
ph= 8.2
Salinity= 1.023

I mean everything in my tank is doing fine, even my alarm clock (my flower pot coral). He is always happy.

I placed the brain on the sand in the corner slightly shaded and in a low flow area. He is still a brilliant green, maybe I am paranoid, I have had him for three days and he hasn't even blown up up? One skeleton area has started bleaching.
I have not tried to feed him yet I will try some brine or mysis shrimp with some cyclopeez. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly needed.
Thanks

That might have something to do with it. What are your Nitrites?

My ammonia really is about zero, according to my reef test I tested tonight. Tried to feed him tonight about a half hour after I had just had the actinics on.

I would move it out of the shade. PCs may not be enough light for it.
How about a picture of it?

I thought brains loved low light conditions? I could be wrong but seems like that wouldn't be the issue.

Well, he isn't bleaching like I thought, but he hasn't blown up since I got him and that was five days ago. Think I might have figured out the problem though. Tested my last night and it was 510. I keep it kinda high for my flower pot. Do you guys think might be a reason behind him not fully open up. Thanks in advance.

510, are you talking Ca?
If your bioload is not that heavy, meaning a lot of SPS or a few clams or hard coral, you really do not need to add Ca, it is enough with water changes every week or so.

Thank for the info Luey. But I had read somewhere that flowerpot corals like a higher Ca level. Is that true? I found the true problem anyway, I have been watching my bi-color angel and coral beauty and the seem to like the taste of brain. ha ha!
