I'd almost say the first one is a Montipora sp., but it may be Acropora sp. The second is definitely an Acropora sp. Other than genus, no clue on species ID. It's almost impossible to tell from pictures alone.

i think they are both acropora.
I could be wrong though, I surely see how the first one could be a montipora but if it is, it has the hairiest polyps on a monti I have ever seen along with polyps coming out of the tips which none of the branching montis I have ever had have done.
Not to say that there isnt a monti type that could

The first one is a orange montipora Digita and the second one is a type of acro. I know for sure that is what they are I have all sps and I have both of them in my tank.

well not to start anything but its not monti dig. because they have semi small polyps and i have never seen a monti dig. with polyps comeing out of the tips there both acroporas and i would guess(this is a long shot) a millepora cause i have one in my tank with the same polyps

Welcome to TRT Cichlid333!
Tell us more about your tank. You seem to have some strong feelings about those corals.

montipora sp. do NOT have polyps on the growth tips. that is one characteristic that is used to tell them apart. i say that they are both acropora sp. number 1 is possibly A. Millipora. can you get a macro shot of it ?? try holding the lens of the camera flush on the glass and snapping the pic.

Both ARE without a doubt Acropora. The first one could be millepora, but more likely prostrata, the second one is tricky. So many Acros look like this one, and no offense, but it doesn't look 100% and this makes it a little tougher to ID. Maybe time will tell... have you had them long?

well if they're still alive, they're at least 9 months old now.
