It's all good. There doesn't seem to be a real answer to my question anyway, and the bubble seems to have gone away. It may have had something to do with the elevated salinity or some other elevated element caused by about 15gl of evaporation in a system that holds less than 80gl. This is pure speculation though. The two may not be related at all. Who knows?

it could have also been something as simple as a little salt creep falling on it. as long as it is gone now ... i would not worry to much about it.
